Due to the social institution, Mrs. Bonnet had no other wish if her five
daughters could get married as soon as possible with someone wealthy. At
a dancing ball, Mr. Bingley fell in love at first sight with Jane
because of her beauty. Mrs. Bennet was so excited that she could not
hold her manner and declared publicly she would have a daughter married.
soon, which annoyed Mr. Darcy. Mr. Collins, a distant nephew of Mr.
Bennet, came to aska marriage to one of his cousins before Mrs. Bennet
was able to be clear why Mr. Bingleyleft suddenly. After receiving the
hint from Mrs. Bennet that Jane already had an admirer, Mr. Collins
turned to Elizabeth without wasting a minute and to Miss Charlotte L
ucas two days later after being refused by Elizabeth. And then Lydia
finally married Mr. Wickham, though the marriage was built on the basis
of ten thousand pounds. Mr. Darcy offered the money and did everything
against his will just because he loved Elizabeth so much. He could not
hide his feelings any more and showed his affection for Elizabeth at
last, rejecting him because of a series of misunderstandings towards
him. So the prejudice of Elizabeth to Mr. Darcy was exposed and removed
since then. And there are two happy unities of young couples finally.
The author of this book was Austen. She came from a parsonage family and
she lived in the English countryside for most of her life, so she knew
the way of life there well, and most of her works were drawn from the
life she knew. Pride and Prejudice is mainly about the love story
between Darcy and Elizabeth. Elizabeth, the second child of the Bennett
family, is the heroine of the book. She was smart, beautiful,
intelligent, and hungry for true love. Out of prejudice through Darcy,
she rejected Darcy's proposal of marriage, resulting in the feelings of
the two experienced many twists and turns. Finally, she got rid of her
prejudice. Darcy is a young man of a rich family and noble title. He was
quick-witted and kind-hearted. He was merciful even to his enemy
Wickham. However, because he was good at stringing strangers, people
thought he was a proud person. After humbly accepting Elizabeth's
criticism, he wins her love. This taught me that one should not become
proud because one's family is rich, nor should one assume or be
prejudged against others.
