The first implication is: satirizing the greedy face of mankind in pursuit of wealth and savage looting during the Gold Rush.
Buck was originally a privileged pet dog who had to compete against humans and other humans to survive in an increasingly harsh environment.
The second implication is to satirize the nature of the law of the jungle and the survival of the fittestunder the capitalist civilization . The American Gold Rush changed human society so much that not only did people leave their homes and kill for profit, but dogs were also affected and became victims of the profit chain.
The third implication is the confusion about the future of human civilization and the awe of natural law. The domestication of dogs by humans is, in fact, the gradual socialization of dogs. However, the author thinks that after putting it back to nature, it can be considered to have returned home and found its place. This shows that the author is more in awe of natural law than human civilization.

For the vast majority of works about dogs, they mainly focus on the intimate relationship between dogs and humans, which is relatively simple in connotation. But this novel has broken the traditional formula, through Buck through a series of hardships, metamorphosis, finally return to the wolves of the legendary experience reflects the triple message.
