Some Thoughts After Reading
zhanwx
Some Thoughts Concerning Education is an educational work by the
English philosopher and educator John Locke, which was first published
in 1693. The book focuses on "Gentlemans education" and
explores how to consolidate the fruits of the Bourgeois Revolution in
Britain through education. In this book, John Locke comprehensively
analyzes the characteristics of "gentleman", puts forward
sports, moral education and intellectual education as the core part of
education, and makes a systematic discussion of each part, which is the
book mainly talked about three aspects. Not only that, these thoughts
are inherited from the renaissance education theory of Montaigne, and
the educational thought of the 18th century French Enlightenment has a
profound influence on the development of modern western educational
theory. By reading this excellent book, I also have a deep
understanding of myself. Just as the author mentions in the book,
the most important thing in education is to put people on the priority,
respect the individual differences produced by each individual, and
carry out education through the characteristics of each individual.
Therefore, I think that the acquired nature of education is completely
more than congenital, and the most important of which is the cultivation
of personal moral character and so on.
