John Locke, the British educator, is the representative of the thought of gentleman education. In His Educational Ramble, Locke expounded his idea of gentleman education, that is, how to cultivate rational, virtuous and talented gentlemen or entrepreneurs with pioneering spirit. His thought of gentleman education is mainly embodied in three aspects: physical education, moral education and intellectual education.

In terms of physical health, Locke attached great importance to gentleman's sports. In his opinion, "a healthy mind is in a healthy body", and he put the cultivation of a strong body in the first place of all education. This is the real life, "the body is the capital of revolution" this old saying. It is true that to study, to work, to succeed, to be happy, we must first have health. In the book, Locke also discussed in detail the maintenance and exercise of children's health issues, many still valuable advice. Body habit is a kind of happiness, but also an important condition for the achievement of career. In short, his sports theory can be summed up in one sentence: "Endure hard work, don't be spoiled." These thoughts, namely concrete opinions, are of great guiding significance to our early education and family education.
