A reading report

The study of human understanding is a masterpiece of modern empiricist philosophy. Hume implemented the methods of experimental philosophy and the principles of empiricism to the end and reached a skeptical conclusion: most of the knowledge about the world that human beings think they have is unreliable, but this is all we can get as human beings. Because of this surprising and perplexing conclusion, Hume became a landmark figure in the history of philosophy. In the next few hundred years, philosophers had to talk about Hume's conclusion and give their own judgment as long as they talked about human cognition and knowledge.
