love and ration
蔡志亮
The story is not directly told by the author, instead, it is shared by a
woman who wrote a letter to the man she loved for a lifetime when she
was dying. It is all about how much the woman loved that man and all the
things that she had ever did for him to show her crazy but eternal love.
The woman was raised by her single mother in Vienna. When she was
thirteen years old, a young man moved in the community. As the servants
helped him to decorate the house, the woman felt a sense of mystery on
him before she really met him and began to raise a lot of attention to
him. Being a teenage, she actually did not know what love is, but it
occurred to her that she just had a special feeling on that man and
barely could look at his face because of a lack of courage. All she
could do was to secretly watch him through a small hole on the door day
by day though she had found him amorous. However, things had to be
changed because she would be moving in her stepfather’s house after her
mother’s remarriage. Her youth ended in the inexhaustible missing on
him. she gave up the well-paid job but found a job as saleswoman in the
city where the man lived for holding a hope that she would meet him
again. Finally, he noticed the woman and got a crush on her but only for
three days, leaving the white roses and her pregnancy. The woman gave
birth to a baby boy without telling him. She thought that the baby is
the fruit of their love and she did not want to aggravate his burden
since she knew he was a playboy. For the rest of her life, she made a
living as a prostitute to create a better condition for her son without
asking the man for any help. Her life was strongly marked by a tough
determination to live alone rather than rely on that man. Meanwhile,
the woman still could not stop missing him as if he were the only man in
the world and she turned down a lot of suitors who may love her and
accompany her forever. During the time she met that man again in the
concert, she still found him so irresistable. she love him until she
died. 爱真的是这样吗?甘愿付出一切,付出一生?我们需要思考如何学会爱一个人,才能避免女主人公的悲剧。
