Gulliver's Travel
Recently I read Gulliver's Travel by the British author Jonathan Swift. The novel uses humorous language to describe the hero Gulliver's four times around the world, experienced big and small. A thrilling and interesting adventure that reflects social status and dark institutions with biting satire and bizarre imagination. Whether it is adult country, Lilliputian or flying island, the bizarre story makes me deeply fascinated.
What fascinates me most about this book is that the author uses humor to bring satire to the extreme. The book is full of the author's imaginary world, but it incisively and vividly reflects the drawbacks of the real society. Isn't it just giant? People are desperate for money and power, so there will be hatred, jealousy, framing, war and other bad phenomena. And look at the kingdom of marriage, where the rulers are not men full of desire, but horses who are bold, kind and rational, preaching virtues.
Gulliver's Travels metaphor personality common shortcomings, make me unconsciously thinking about a lot of problems. For example, officials in the "Lilliput" kingdom, though small, like to put on AIRS. The court pays attention to laws and red tape, but is so corrupt that it selects officials based on who is good at dancing. "By Gulliver in the giants of the predicament, magnify our easy to ignore the bad behavior,.And the "Flying Island" of those addicted to fantasy inventors, also make people laugh, but also understand the value of down-to-earth. Especially the character of the hero Gulliver, really admire. He was a man who could endure hardships. In Lilliput, he could well follow their system and avoid being hurt. In adult country, he could endure cash cow, so that he could survive and get the favor of the emperor and empress.
In short, I think "Gulliver's Travels" tells people the truth is: the power of wisdom is endless, in life, we should be good at using wisdom to overcome. It tells us that when there is oppression, there is resistance, and only by daring to resist can we get the so- called equality and happiness.
