The features and highlights of this novel do not lie in the gorgeous
rhetoric or profound truth, but in the protagonist. A delicate
description of a change in character. In this paper, the influence of
the surrounding environment on Pip's psychology is everywhere. When he
was young, Pip didn't want to be high-class at all, just wanted to be a
good blacksmith. But there has been a subtle change in his heart since
he first met Estella. Because of the huge gap in social status, for the
first time, he thought that his shoes were too worn and his way of
speaking was not "formal". For the first time, he asked Joe
why he did not teach him the "straight" way of speaking. After
arriving in London, Pip came. A U-turn of 180 °. He began to dress
lavishly, squandered the money given by the mysterious man from his
lawyer, and ended up in a large debt; he joined a stupid club that only
a "gentleman" could join, and quarreled with a vulgar and
cruel squire for Estella.
