老人与海书评
Twilight years of the old fisherman, the vast magnificent sea, fierce and strong big marlin constitute a wonderful picture of life.
The last work of the famous American novelist Ernest Hemingway, The Old Man and the Sea, led him to the peak of his creative career. Hemingway won the Pulitzer Prize in 1953 and the Nobel Prize in 1954 for his work. The 20,000-word novel tells a simple yet profound story in fluent, accessible language.
The old fisherman, who had not caught any fish for 84 days in a row, decided to go fishing again on the 85th day. He said goodbye to his only friend, the little boy, and went alone to the deep sea where no one had dared to go. Finally the old man met a huge big marlin, after several hard fighting and competition, the old man uniform the big marlin. On the way home, however, sharks repeatedly attack. The old man fought off the shark again and again. Eventually, he returned to shore with only a skeleton.
Nietzsche said, "Whatever does not kill me makes me strong."
Hemingway's story of the old man and the sea is a paean to the struggle between man and fate. The old man's strong, optimistic, struggle and resistance are all shining with the brilliance of human nature. However, along with the journey of life, the loneliness, pain and worldly perspective are inevitable. Only inner strength and courage can make it invincible. Even if he had to go home empty-handed, he practiced his heroism with an indestructible momentum: a person can be destroyed, but not defeated.
The old man and the big marlin launched a desperate struggle, in this bitter battle, the old man endured the pain of left hand spasm, the pain of the line embedded in the flesh and bone, he again and again exhausted physical strength and big fish, he never thought of giving up, he was amazed at the strength of the big fish but always with the posture of old and strong forward. He tried his best to eat and sleep enough to replenish his strength, he persisted with great endurance, using the enemy retreat I advance, the enemy tired I fight the strategy to kill the big fish.
Faced with five waves of shark attacks, the old man lost his harpoon, but he used his paddle to make homemade tools to drive away the big sharks again and again. Even in the toughest of circumstances, the old man thought: Now is not the time to think about what is missing, think about what you can do with what you have.
When a turtle is killed, its heart beats for hours, and the old man thinks, I have a heart like that, and my hands and feet are just like theirs. Such confidence and enterprising spirit are all the more valuable for an old man.
This big fish is a symbol of obstacles and enemies in people's way. No matter how powerful the enemy is, nothing is invincible as long as he does not give in and lose hope.
The lion in the old man's dream was a symbol of strength and courage. The old man had seen the long beaches and lofty mountains of Africa when he was a child. He dreamed that he was a lion galloping the grassland, and he dreamed that he would conquer the sea like a lion conquering the grassland. This gave him endless strength and courage to fight. To the old man, the strength of the lion was invincible.
At the end of the story, the old man dreamed of the lion again. In the old man's heart, the power of life would not be weakened because of temporary failure, and even increased, more and more brave.
The old man had no friends except the little boy, and when he went to sea, he always talked loudly to himself, even to the seabirds and to the big fish. He struggles alone in the vast sea.
Human nature is solitary. Loneliness is innate and ubiquitous. Loneliness may make people lonely, but it is also the understanding of self and perfect, only enjoy loneliness, cherish loneliness, in order to send out the brilliance of life in loneliness.
The old man went out to sea for eighty-four days without catching any fish. For the first forty days, a little boy followed him. On the forty-first day, the boy's parents lost faith in the old man and they let the boy leave the poor old fisherman. Some of the other fishermen made fun of the old man, and some took pity on him. But the old man did not care.
The only person who really understood the old man was the little boy. He knew the old man's strength and efforts, and he always trusted the old man. He took care of the old man's daily life in every detail, helped him with his fishing gear, and even wanted to accompany him on the sea. The old man regarded the boy as his only friend and always thought of him in hard times.
People will inevitably be in the midst of their judgments, whether good or bad, and only by embracing them can you let go of the clutter, warm your heart, and focus on the road.
There are still a lot of questions confusing us, and the big fish, and their own physical strength and will to fight, the old man he finally won? He pulled the fish back with all his might. He didn't let it kill him. He won. But the fish was eaten up by the shark, and at last only a huge bone was left. The long struggle for life and death was fruitless, and he failed.
But it seems not so, Santiago on the sea for us to write noble two words, he kept grace in defeat, calm, although nothing, but back to the seaside hut, he fell asleep, even dream of the lion, those who said he was bad, can not help but praise his great deeds everywhere. There may be a second struggle, and whatever the outcome, there is every reason to believe that Santiago will not fail, because the noble soul will come ashore again and again with dignity, like a giant fish bone, become a kind of spirit.

Hemingway committed suicide in 1961, Faulkner says, shaking his head. "Hemingway's fearlessness and manhood were in part a disguise." And he "doesn't like a guy who takes the easy way home." On the way home, Hemingway walked honestly and calmly, that is the last dignity of life, like Santiago once again at sea, he can still proudly hold the harpoon, pull the tight line, continue to fight.
