Confucianism
英语2002葛晓丹
Confucianism:a great wisdom of China As is known to all, The Analects
of Confucius is a classic work of Confucianism that records Confucius
and his disciples' dialogues. This sutra, which has influenced the
mainstream thought of China for thousands of years, can still enlighten
us today. In the view of Confucius, everyone should pursue the noble
moral sentiment, especially the ruler, which is similar to the western
assertion in Plato's Republic that the supreme ruler should be a
philosopher. If everyone has no choice but to take the national public
interest as their own responsibility, then the world can be achieved.
However, whether people can be taught and whether they can be taught
with courtesy and virtue does not seem to fully comply with personal
development. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly educate,
especially the moral cultivation of rulers. After all, in ancient times,
it was a centralized system under the leadership of the emperor.
Ordinary people should also strengthen moral cultivation, so as to
better share the worries of the monarch, seek the welfare of the people,
and realize the highest requirements for responsibility and pursuit
under the Confucian system. Moreover, Confucius himself, as an educator
and political theorist, practiced his own ideas, which were later
accepted and developed by almost all dynasties. Therefore, in our
national genes, "harmony" and "benevolence" are the
main factors, and this national gene also promotes our national unity.
