After reading through Alfred Marshall's great work Principles of
Economics, thinking about some basic concepts of economics, first of
all, starting from the origin, explore some essential concepts of
economics. In the social context of that time, the author's understanding
of the main work of economists was to discover how potential social
assets could be developed and how they could be most wisely utilized, in
conjunction with modern economic development and personal learning.
Regarding the essence of economics, the individual's view is that the
so-called economics refers to, under limited natural and non natural
resource conditions, A social science that studies how to maximize
resource utilization and achieve optimal wealth. The main work of
contemporary economists should be to research and develop existing
theories, based on practical situations, in order to develop economic
theories that can be applied to and combined with contemporary economic
development. As stated in the book, for economists, there are three
types of intelligence that are most important: perception, imagination,
and reasoning. Economists need to have a perception to be good at
discovering the extraordinary in visible events in life; At the same
time, be able to have imagination to explore these extraordinary reasons
and results that lie beneath the surface; Reasoning, on the other hand,
enables economists to derive universal principles that can be applied to
ordinary cases from special examples after exploring and thinking. From
the above, we can see that economics is a science that studies wealth.
