A Repect For Conan Doyle
What a great author Conan Doyle is!
This is the last story of the series of Sherlock Holmes. As what it used to be, it is full of suspense, quite absorbing, while also a little humorous.
When I read through the situation that two secretaries were meeting, I began to guess that maybe Holmes and British coppers would appear and caught the two guys. But that didn't happen even until one of the secretary, Baron left. Perhaps it's because I have read so many books that are so straight-forward that I am not able to quickly switch to this kind of reading. If the story ends in this way, it won't deserve the appreciations people has sent to it. Only when it's full of suspense can a novel be alive. Maybe it's not the rippen time to caught Baron.
While Baron left, Atlamont reached. Is this a coincidence? I don't know. But I know that I began to be morre and more sure that Von Bork will be caught this time, because Atlamont told Von Bork that his other five important agents had been arrested and he asked for the protection of Germen. But Conan Doyle deserved to receive a good fame. To my surprise, Atlamont is Holmes, and Von Bork was caught by Holmes and Watson, rather than coppers. Though I have read the story three years ago, it still surprised me.
However, as I return to the front page, I'm surprisingly to find that what Von Bork had said has suggest this. He said, ''Sometimes I assure you I can hardly understand him."
From the angle of we readers, there are some places that is quite humorous. For example, when Von Bork opened the parcel, there is a handbook about breeding bees. Abother example, at the end of the story, Holmes said, ''I have a check for five hundred pounds which should be cashed early, for the drawer is quite capable of stopping it if he can.'' A sense of humor makes the story perfect. We can also see that a sense of humor is necessary for everybody, for that makes our world full of happiness.
