A Senior Gentleman

Theoretically, Sherlock Holmes is supposed to be 60 years old at that time and it is a great relief to see him working actively at such a high age. But I wonder how Mr.Holmes successfully disguises himself as young American-Irish man when he almost enters his senior stage of life?
