the best revenge in the world, is to let him live, but with huge guilty.
in the whole novel the unknown woman insists that she doesn't hate the irresponsible writer. but that is impossible. it is the writer who puts her in the tragic situation,it's him who ruins her live.though the woman mentions many times that she does't blame her beloved. but that is another way to deepen the guilty of the man,who reads the tragedy he creats personally.
the woman knows that she will no longer live in this world. so she chooses not to ruin the reputation of the man by anouncing this dreadful love affair in publc, for this is not so effctive,and will just make her like a fool.She chooses to let the man live with the guilty of irresponsibility, ignorance and indifferentness.
this is not a complex revenge,and not so exciting like the The Count of Monte Cristo. but that is sorrowful and filled with disappointment and,even hatred.
