Li Shizhen

Li Shizhen spent nearly thirty years traveling thousands of miles, asking several people, and personally tasting hundreds of herbs before completing the masterpiece "Compendium of Materia Medica", correcting past mistakes and enriching the knowledge of Materia Medica. Li Shizhen completed such a complete work on both herbal medicine and chemistry with his fearless spirit. His meticulous thinking classified herbal medicine into rigorous scientific categories, which was a summary of Chinese pharmacology for thousands of years at that time.
