Spy, England and Germany

It's different from other stories, no Dr.Watson's description, no cases and no Scotland Yard. The story describes a German spy who wants to steal the secret of England. Unlike the spies we see on TV screens, Von Bork fails to get anything useful as he receives the data from Holmes. That is to say, he again shows how intelligent Holmes is.

   The story is about a German spy and a English detective. We know that Germany and England have been rivals since the 19th century. As far as I'm concerned, the story can catch people's eyes due to its background. Nowadays we can see there are seldom German football players in Barclays Premier League in England. Maybe the rivalry can explain the phenomenon.
