Li Shizhen's dream

Li Shizhen set up a clinic of his own. From then on, he spent all his time caring for the sick. He also devoted himself to writing his book. For the next 30 years, he was roaming between the mountains looking for medical herbs. He interviewed people. He collected almost all the different kinds of herbs. Then, he drew detailed sketches of them. At last, Li Shizhen finished his masterpiece – Bencao Gangmu at the age of 60. This great book became one of the most important medical books in China. Even today, it is still read by doctors who study traditional Chinese medicine.
