The characteristics

In Fiscott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby, Gatsby's image left a
deep impression on my mind. Gatsby is a person full of romantic
fantasies and persistent pursuits. A strong spirit of optimism can be
seen in him, who never gives up even when facing setbacks. On the one
hand, he is a person who is infatuated, extremely eager for love, and
bravely pursues his dreams. "He reached out his hand in despair, as
if trying to grab a strand of air and leave a fragment of this lovely
city because of her." This passage reflects Gatsby's persistence
and attachment to Daisy, even though he knew he couldn't truly have it,
he still desperately wanted to grab that glimmer of beauty,
demonstrating his infatuation and extreme desire for love. "He
stretched out his hands strangely towards the dark sea, and even though
he was far away, I could tell he was trembling. I couldn't help but look
towards the other side of the sea. But I didn't see anything, only a
faint green light in the distance, perhaps the electric light on
someone's dock." The "green light" here symbolizes
Gatsby's dream, as if he was trying to grab it, and trembling showed his
inner tension and unease, highlighting his wholehearted and almost
insane state for his dream. ". On the other hand, Gatsby possesses
a strong spirit of optimism and never gives up even in the face of
setbacks. "So we rowed forward with all our might, the small boat
sailing upstream, never stopping to regress and enter the past."
This sentence shows that he has always had a firm belief in the
beautiful past, believing that he can go back to that time, reflecting
his positive attitude on the path of pursuing his dreams. In short,
Gatsby presents us with a character full of romantic fantasies, brave
pursuit of dreams, and a positive and optimistic attitude towards life.
