Melman Melville is an excellent writer, and all the characters in his
works have their own spirit to express and promote the plot. This is an
excellent novel and my favorite book. Herman's excellent imagination and
unique expression attracted me. The book tells the story that the
protagonist Ishmael boarded the whaling ship named Pecoud and went out
to sea with Ahab, the captain of Pecoud, who was swallowed up by hatred
and anger, in search of Mobidick, a white sperm whale. What I like is
not only the plot, but Melville's characterization of the characters and
his mapping of the real society. "Some people died at low tide,
some died in shallows, and some died at the peak of high tide. What
attracts me most is the language. He is familiar with the sea, and his
words are full of power, which embodies the literariness of this book.
The description of the sea is both mysterious and charming, which makes
people want to explore. Finally, the philosophy in this book is also
worthy of my careful experience and reflection.
