永恒的记忆
The Snow of Kilimanjaro "is a classic Hemingway, it is simple and
powerful words, depicting a profound picture of life, death and
redemption. In the story, the protagonist Harry faces the end of his
life in the wilderness of Africa. His past indulgence, confusion and
extravagance, under the approach of death gradually clearly displayed in
front of the reader. However, it was this despair of approaching the end
that made him reflect on his life. With his unique "iceberg
theory" writing technique, Hemingway only shows part of the story,
and hides more connotation under the words. What we see is not only
Harry's physical pain, but also the struggle of his soul. The snow of
Kilimanjaro, a symbol of purity and eternity, stands in stark contrast
to Harry's chaotic, short life at this time. The description of the
environment in the book is delicate and realistic, so that readers feel
as if they are there, and feel the vastness and desolation of the
African savannah. This kind of environment further deepens the tragic
color of the protagonist's fate. As we read, we will reflect on the
meaning of life along with Harry's thoughts. Is lost in prosperity and
vanity, or in the dilemma to find the true self? This book tells us that
death is not the end, but an opportunity to reassess life. Overall, The
Snows of Kilimanjaro is a work full of philosophy and depth. It makes us
feel the charm of words at the same time, but also have a deeper
thinking about life. It reminds us to cherish the present moment, not to
let life pass in vain, to strive to pursue the true desire of the heart,
so that life can bloom its own light.
