The Great Gatsby
rrrrrrrrrrrreadl
As one of the most famous works of Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby left a
great impression on me. From the novel, I can feel the social landscape
of the Roaring 20s in America: hedonism, consumerism, optimism, as well
as the dark side marked by bootlegging. Gatsby's fate is a mirror of the
corruption of American Dream, a dream that all Americans had had one
time or another. He was considered "great" by the author. It
is not only because of his wealth, but more importantly, it's because of
his deep love for Daisy. He could even sacrifice his own life for her.
However, his end was tragic. This leaves us reflect.
