In ancient times, a "complete person" refers to someone with
sound virtue and comprehensive skills. In the view of the ancients, the
symbol of being a "complete person" was not physical maturity
brought by age growth, but the acquisition of sound virtue and
comprehensive skills through learning and self-cultivation. A
"complete person" needs to possess wisdom and courage, be able
to control desires, master various skills, appropriately deal with all
kinds of affairs in life, and ensure words and deeds always conform to morality.
