The Great Gatsby
用户867716
The Great Gatsby, written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, reveals the
disillusionment of the American Dream in the 1920s. Jay Gatsby devotes
his whole life to pursuing wealth and his ideal love for Daisy. He holds
grand parties and chases an unrealistic dream, only to end up in
tragedy. The novel sharply shows the cold class gap and hollow
materialism of that age. Gatsby’s persistence is touching, but his
obsession with the past finally destroys him. This classic story reminds
us that blind pursuit of illusory dreams will only lead to
disappointment, and reality is always cruel and undeniable.
