The Great Gatsby
用户865105
After reading The Great Gatsby, I feel deeply moved and sad. This
classic work shows the disillusionment of the American Dream and the
coldness of upper-class society. Gatsby is a sincere and persistent
man. He spends his whole life chasing his lover Daisy and his beautiful
dream. He makes great efforts to become rich, holds endless grand
parties, and waits stubbornly for the love in his youth. The green light
far away stands for his endless and unreachable dream. However, his
dream finally breaks. Daisy is weak and selfish. She abandons Gatsby in
trouble and leaves him facing misfortune alone. Few people attend
Gatsby’s funeral, which fully exposes the hypocrisy and indifference of
those wealthy people. Gatsby is great because he always keeps pure
faith in a vain world. His tragedy tells us that blind pursuit will end
in disappointment. True happiness never lies in wealth and illusory
love. This meaningful book makes me understand the cruelty of reality
and the importance of rational dreams.
