1. “Then, somehow, it was quite possible that any place in which Sara lived might turn out to be nice.”

Comment:

Spoiled children? Or maybe ignorant girl? I am not meant to scold this innocent girl and also have no attention of criticizing her. Maybe virtual things and an explanation can serve as a fairy tale.in her life. Also thanks for her innocence and kindness.

2. “But Lottie was a determined little person. If Sara would not tell her where she lived, she would find out in some other way. She talked to her small companions and hung about the elder girls and listened when they were gossiping; and acting upon certain information they had unconsciously let drop, she started late one afternoon on a voyage of discovery, climbing stairs she had never known the existence of, until she reached the attic floor.”

Comment:

I do not understand this pushy deed. For she is a child and childish enough? No pumping about details, no harm to those you love, as someone has said. We highlight the significance of privacy, just for the deep understanding of the harm this kind of pumping will bring us. As a child, you are innocent enough to ignore this harm named love or care. Maybe what the growth teaches us is also the respect to someone we love and also the beauty of secrets. Just remember, I do not dig out the root of all of you, not only because of your reluctance to tell me your predicament but also for this respectable love of me.

In the other way, when secrets are bound to be exposed to the one you want to keep, there is nonsense to shy or reluctant. You know her well and understand her strong curiosity. Unstoppable, then do not resist it. That is the real wise, as far as I am concerned.

3. “Chimneys—quite close to us—with smoke curling up in wreaths and clouds and going up into the sky—and sparrows hopping about and talking to each other just as if they were people—and other attic windows where heads may pop out any minute and you can wonder who they belong to. And it all feels as high up—as if it was another world.”

Comment:

Chimneys are used to be viewed as a symbol of dirty or darkness, meanwhile become a symbol of surprise and gifts from the Santa Claus for fairy tales and great imaginations. But this kind of living place, I believe, no one want to approach. Also same with all of these smoke, sparrows and so on. I admire the unique standpoint and view of this little girl .Her descriptions to this attic beautify her life. Actually, rather than believe that her attitude towards this tough life result in these magic imagination, I would like to believe that it is this tough life that model her optimistic attitude. If we can't change this, then change ourselves, we always say like this. It is not only from the enforcement of the true life also for the desire to be better.

4. “It is so close that if there was a little girl in the attic, we could talk to each other through the windows and climb over to see each other, if we were not afraid of falling.”

Comment:

If we were not afraid of falling. Actually it is this that shock me. Falling, I think in this article, means more than falling into the ground physically. Having no fear of falling into the ground, in this attic, the girl has the chance to talk to the natural living things, and someone live with her in her expectations, with pleasure and ease. Meanwhile what makes no fear is that she does not fear to lose the fortune and the so-called grace, from my standpoint. Of course, no one can bear this change without any hesitation, worry and confusion. Falling is a kind of living state, while without a note of fear is a kind of mentation after a life of big rise and fall. Actually, only falls can shape such easiness.

5. "Do you suppose," he said slowly, after a pause—"do you think it is possible that the other child—the child I never cease thinking of, I believe—could be—could POSSIBLY be reduced to any such condition as the poor little soul next door?"

Comment:

Life is filled with jokes! It plays a joke on little Sara and makes she loses her loved father and then become a poor and be bullied by the snobs. It plays a joke on Mr. Crewe, which resulting in his death and pity that he will not have any chance to look after his little girl, his little pretty princess. It also play a joke on Mr. Carrisford, making him full of guilty to his friend and his daughter. And most cruelly, he has met the girl he is looking for, however he does not know that. He shows his mercy to this little poor but kind servant girl, but he has not realize that this is the very girl he is looking for. How dramatic!

6. “But one of the strongest tests she was ever put to came on a certain dreadful day which, she often thought afterward, would never quite fade out of her memory even in the years to come.”

Comment:

Something would never quite fade out of your memory, which means that it leave an impression on you. Usually, it is most painful or pleasant. While, you know that, human is more likely to remember such things that torture him physically or psychologically. No doubt that Sara is a strong willed girl, but when recalling of those days in her hardest days, she is not so strong as we thought. In fact, little person can be totally relieved to those painful days. As a child who should have lived in the protection of her parents, she was too early to bear the viciousness of the world. However, she did it. There is just a little case: several long and tiresome errand in continuous rainy day. She was so cold and hungry and tired that her face began to have a pinched look. In her spiritual world, this is one of the strongest tests, tests which tested whether or not she was a princess. And a princess who is ready for all the viciousness of this pale world and try to show her greatest kindness and nobleness in return. Of course, the help from others is not to be erased. On the other way, maybe her kindness is also sourced from those she met on her way to the princess.

7. “The dream was quite at an end.”

Comment:

The game stops. The dream ends. It is a dream about princess, nobleness and grace, in her mind. She exerts all her energy to 'pretend' to be a princess in her spiritual world. Unfortunately, the dream is broken by Miss Minchin. She is so tried and exhausted, both physically and psychologically. Maybe she will yield to the distress in life. Will she?

8. "To the little girl in the attic. From a friend."

Comment:

Life is just like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get. There are many chances to encounter a big surprise. As is always mentioned, God closed a door and will open another window for you. And this unknown friend is this 'window', when despairing, confused and exhausted, he gives Sara the flaring spark in her homelessness. And it is also this power that continue the dream of a princess. Though the malicious threats of the real world can be seen in many aspects, a little flare of kindness and humanity can lighten others' life, even if only a little spark. That is enough! Thank you, unknown friend, you are the most lovely angel, Sara must have said to herself, I suppose.

9."It was the day the dream came true."

 Comment:

What is bitter to endure may be sweet to remember, I have to admit. After falling, what impress Sara in those tough days only leave her a dream how she sticks to her faith.
