Although Mr. Moriarty stands for evil and nearly everybody seems to hate him, I simply show my appreciation to him-an awesome but miserable genius. I call him Mr. Moriarty instead of Professor Moriarty in order to show my full respect for the rare man with great talents. He is a perfectionist, who is tired of numbers and simple demonstration in math, hunting for challenging problems and aggressive life. He is sure to be condemned but this doesn't mean that he is not a miserable character in the tragedy of his life. It sounds unbelievable that a genius chooses to be a complete criminal eventually. Nevertheless, if we could have an overall understanding of the situation of London in the 19th century,we may change our mind. The excessive production and extensive use of machinery have affected people's hearts seriously. As a result, he is also one of the victims of the generation,and his nature of darkness is understandable in some way.
