As we know, the final problem is the last chapter of the memoirs, which consists of the fourth part of the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. This story is about an epic battle between two great men. One is the "Silver Bullet", Mr. Sherlock; the other is the "Napoleon of Crime", Professor Moriarty. They have fought against each other for many years while they were both geniuses with high intelligence. To get rid of the dilemma, they determined to compete directly. On May,4,1891, they met with old enemies and their battlefield was the Reichenbach Fall. They struggled for their own believes and in the end, both of them fell into the bottomless abyss. That was the ending of such a glamorous heroic epic and it led the name of the hero, Sherlock Holmes, to spread around the world.
The last problem involves two geniuses. One is Mr. Sherlock who stands for light, having devoted himself to struggling against criminals and upholding justice; the other is Mr. Moriarty, an outstanding professor of math with so many achievements, while he has another occupation little-known by people that he is a professional criminal as well. Mr. Moriarty has organized many crimes and absolutely he lives in the darkness, having fun making the destruction to the society. In contrast, Mr. Sherlock takes on the responsibility of removing evilness from the world. Therefore, they are opposed and there is no possibility that they will make a compromise. On the other hand, they are similar for the reason that both of them are extremely intelligent, good at analyzing and thinking. To sum up, the battle between two great men is dramatic and the result could be foreseen and acceptable.
