The Final Problem，the Final Re

Among the books in many types of entities, detective fiction is my favorite. For nearly half of the semester, I read a few detective novels about Sherlock Holmes. Because the stories are relatively short, I chose three to read in order to reach the word requirement. The three books are < The Final Problem >< His Last Bow > and < The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire >. For some reason, I put down this book review just for < The Final Problem >.

"The Final Problem" is the last chapter of "The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes". It is generally believed that Conan Doyle, the writer of this detective story, had been tired of writing and wanted to think of a way to end the works of creation, just as the title shows. That duel on the cliff between Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty is the most classic piece of the whole book. Holmes fought with Moriarty, his life opponent, on the Reichenbach Falls cliff. The final ending is that both of them fell down to the bottom of the cliff.

If we look on Sherlock Holmes as the most legendary detective, there is no doubt that Professor Moriarty should be the most legendary criminal. As they fell on the cliff, the story of Holmes went to the end. The combination between Holmes and Watson and the decisive battle between Holmes and Moriarty are the whole essence of the book. Holmes is lucky. He has a good and believable partner, in the meanwhile, he also has an evenly matched opponent, although he has some strange characters. That is the same as life. When there is always one by your side and ready to help you, when there is an evenly matched competitor to power you forward, you are sure to get the pleasure of life. Life is not to make everyone believe you, and life is not to make everyone accompany you, and life is not to compete with the whole world. One is just enough for a person and for life.

It is no exaggeration that Sherlock Holmes and Detective Conan carry all my fantasy for detectives. As we all know, the latter takes advantage of writer's name to pay tribute to Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes. As for me, Sherlock Holmes is on behalf of detectives.

Coming back to the book, you can find that Sherlock Holmes loves and enjoys his job. He said in the letter"I am pleased to think that I shall be able to free society from any further effects of his presence, though I fear that it is at a cost which will give pain to my friends, and especially, my dear Watson, to you. I have already explained to you, however, that my career had any case reached its crisis, and no possible conclusion to it could be more congenial to me than this." When I read "the most dangerous criminal and most prominent law guard will forever be buried in that vortex agitation, a bottomless ravine churning foam." The heart, like a storm, can not be calm.

As Watson says: and now I have to tell out the deep reason. It is due to the futility of those who defends delusion with the means to commemorate the attack Holmes Moriarty, Holmes and I will be always best known person, most sensible person.

I am deeply moved by Holmes, as a twenty-first century Chinese students. I think I am supposed to pay tribute to Sherlock Holmes who lived in London Baker Street!
