Views  Of Another Spiritu

载木溪

Before  expressing my own views to the work ,I want to show my respect and appreciation to the author,Henry David Thoreau. From his letters sending to his friend Blake,I may have touched a corner of the iceberg of a kind of great spirit, which supported a writer as well as philosopher like Thoreau to proceed with and finish his work, thinking deeply about the human beings and even the whole world while living a live filled with problems of economy ,health and even safe.

Though I didn't understand the content absolutly,I'd like to talk about some of his thought I can acquire revelations from.

The first sentence caught my heart was "I know that I am–I know that another is who knows more than I who takes interest in me,whose creature and yet whose kindred,in one sense,am I."I have always kept thinking,"What if there had another self!"Maybe her live is quite differtent from mine, but she is the only one who utterly understand me.And if we can become intimate friends, she will share her cheer and sadness with me,while I use a way much suitably to company her. However, this is just a pipe dream. So what does the author mean?In my opinion,it may suggest that the one "who knows more than I"is the one who exists in one's deep heart, and only by isolating from something confused us can we meet with the person who can communicate with us well and will never leave us alone!

"May we so love as never to have occation to respect of our love."When refering to love,Thoreau came up with, some views surprised me.In his mind,"The deeds of love are less questionable than any action of an individual can be,for,it being founded on the rarest mutual respect ,the parties incesscantly stimulate each other to a loftier and purer life"and  "In this relation we deal with one whom we respect more religiously even than we respect our better selves."Besides,he thought that marriage, which was so pure that had nothing to do with copulation, must be founded on good vibes. To be honest, after the first time I read these sentences,I can't help but think the gap spaning almost two hundred years makes it too difficult for me to argee with him.In modern life, the programs, novels and cinemas about love are ubiquitous, causing for which many of us  easily believe that love is any thing but something quite pure.In fact, although we have to admit that nowadays it is not realistic enough to distinguish love and the mixture of love with other things,we can, also try to "let love be purified"and"all the rest will follow."I have never experienced the feeling of love, but I'm willing to try my best to make my love less complicated and more noble.

Except for the profound ideas, the poetic words are sparking in these letters."The maiden conceals a fairer flower and sweeter fruit than any calyx in the field, and if she goes with averred face confiding in her purity and high resolves, she will make the heavens retrospective, and all nature humbly confess its queen."It seems that these beautiful words conveys the author's withes to the lovers who are confident and insistent in their pure love. What' s more, what can be simply noticed is the enthusiasm of Thoreau for the nature. In fact,he always utilize scenery, creature and weather to give voice to his ideal, faith or just some petty perspective, and probably it is nature that gave a large quantities of writing inspiration.

Furthermore, from the letters I have learned something about some outstanding friends of Thoreau like Amerson and John Brown. The latter was arrested because he "aspired to rid the land of the iniquity of slavery by leading an insurrection and arming the slaves with weapon from the arsenal"and refused offers of rescue ;he understand that his martyrdom was far more valuable to the cause of abolition than his life! And then Thoreau, who gave a speech in public more than one time to support Brown has moved me again.I begin to envy the people living in their age–how lucky they were to witness those stirring time! And it also gave me the motion to know and be familiar with many more excellent people ,which can inspire me work hard.

Just like what can be seen in the title of this work, each of us is a seeker trying to find a home ,in which are able to entrust our spirit  and keep a level head through it all.
