Sense and Sensibility
Sense and Sensibility is a novel by a British writer Jane Austin. The protagonists of this novel, Elinor and Marianne, was the two sisters who born in an English country gentleman family, elder sister was good at use reason to control emotions, but younger sister's feelings was without any restraint. So when they in the face of love, they made a different reaction.
In this book, writer shows the contrast of the two sisters. From the elder sister's viewpoint on life and the concept of ethics and social to talk most of the story, thus created a "reasonable man". The book describes the relationship between reason and emotion, and in many cases, the idea that reason should be more than emotional.
In the age of Jane Austin, praise of the emotion is the mainstream of the literature information. A lot of people believed that there are strong feelings are outstanding performance, whether these feelings would bring painful to their family or not.It would be a mistake if you try to control or hide it. But the writer had different opinion of this problem. She thought the sincere warm feelings is important and valuable, but still need to be rational to control and adjust. We need to deal with the relationship between reason and emotion.
