My view

It's such an amazing age, just as what has been mentioned in the beginning of the book, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was the season of light, it was the season of darkness…"
Surrounded by Paris and London, and based on the story of Manette's family, the book A Tale of Two Cities tells some attractive stories, from these stories we have more understanding of the terrible age. 
The people mentioned in the book is also so characteristic. Manette, a knowledgeable , skillful, and warm-hearted doctor. Lucie, Manette's daughter, a mild, brave and friendly girl who warmed her father, and survivrd her husband while there was a trouble. Madame Defarge, a female with poor experience but looks frightening. 
Comparison is widely used in the book, possibly, it's also this book's characteristic. Whether it's the comparison of beauty and ugliness, or the good and evil, it inspires our emotions deep within our hearts.
