The book tells the story of an esperienced Cuban fisherman, Santago.A thin old man with deep wrinkles in his neck,but his sealike blue eyes are always firm and undefeated. After 84 days of fishing without success, he finally caught a big marlin on the 85th day and pulled a pair of fish bones ashore after the struggle with the shark. I was deeply touched by his perseverance and spirit of overcoming difficulties and dangers .His deeds made me learn to be doughtiness and always have hope for life.
