“I jumped to my feet, completely thunderstruck. I blinked my eyes hard.”
  This a description of movement when the narrator heard a sound that asked him to draw a sheep. It is so practical that we could take advantage of it. I like the description because the scene in which he was frightened was vividly depicted.
