Why we seldom read books these days and what we should do?
When I was a child, my favorite thing was reading. Every place can be my reading room, including my home, the city park, my friend's home and so forth. I used to have so much fun in reading and never cared about the time and other cost it would take. However, with the passage of time, reading has gradually become something rarely happened in my daily life. I'm not talking about reading web novels. I'm talking about real classics and other instructive books. The reasons for that seem very simple. The burden of the school assignments and examinations spares no time for reading. Besides, the access to information is so easy to get and that actually makes knowledge and information cheap. Worse yet, on the Internet everything is so temporary and instant that we have no time to read long articles. And most importantly, our brain has already got used to the short and instant things in which case the ability of focusing and concentrating is being lost.
Personally, I decided to save myself from the trap. At the beginning of 2022, I listed a long series of names of books on my memo and was determined to read all of them during the coming year. I reckon the first step to get rid of the trap is to "redevelope" the habit of reading regularly. I promise this won't be just a flag or slogan. I will work for it! And I've actually begun reading!
