After her uncle, Mr. Reed, died in the red house, Jane Eyre lived a life of discrimination and abuse for ten years. Once, resisting a beating by her cousin, Jane was put in the red house. Physical pain and mental humiliation and fear made her seriously ill. Her aunt regarded her as a thorn in her side and separated her from her own children, and decided to send her to the Darroward orphanage. As her antagonism with her aunt was more open and determined, Mrs. Reed hastened to send Jane to the orphanage, and in order to get rid of her, she hurt her in every way before Mr. Brocklehurst, and destroyed her reputation.

Jane Eyre's childhood experience was really pitiful, which is why her character was so inferior and sensitive.
