Narration point

The writer used atmosphere, nightmares, visions and premonitions to create an atmosphere of hell and to construct an allegorical setting. In Gateshead, Jane Eyre sensed an 'eerie atmosphere of sacrifice' in her life, and saw 'ghosts' appearing and disappearing. So the oppressive, terrifying 'Red House' became almost a personification of hell. The "Red House" was almost the embodiment of hell. In Lowood, 'death was a constant visitor', 'gloom and horror hung within the walls', and 'the stench of death'. For Jane Eyre, it was a case of jumping out of the fire only to be thrown into an even more terrible hell. At Thornfield, the madwoman appeared like a ghost and the storm continues to hit Thornton House. The author adopted the usage of space to narrate the story that attracted readers more into the environment and atmosphere which Jane had been treated.
The transaction between these places and spaces wisely showed the change of her thoughts.
