The Image of the Moon
聚缘
In Jane Eyre, the image of the moon occupies an important position. Jane Eyre suffered from neglect and abuse from childhood, and was excluded from the family life circle, lacking a sense of security. While reading on the windowsill, she expressed her miserable life situation with the help of moonlight. When Jane Eyre went to Lowood School, the moon appeared. This sinking round and a half of the moon suggested that Jane Eyre was in a difficult situation at Loward School. When Jane Eyre first met Rochester, the moon had just risen. The slowly rising moon indicates that Jane Eyre's fate will have a new turn. On the night of Jane Eyre's wedding with Rochester, she had a dream. The moon in Jane Eyre's dream became a spiritual force guiding Jane Eyre to escape from temptation. Under the light and guidance of the moon, Jane Eyre gained spiritual strength, her soul was purified, and her personality remained independent.
