Boundto rise读后感
周文博
"Bound to Rise" is a novel by American author Horatio Alger, which tells the story of a young boy's journey from a street vendor to a successful entrepreneur through hard work and determination. This novel deeply reveals the capitalist values and work ethics of American society and leaves many inspirations to readers.
In my opinion, the most impressive point of this novel is the protagonist's diligence and self-confidence. The protagonist, Benjamin, is very intelligent despite being young, and he is not satisfied with his life as a street vendor. He actively seeks opportunities and diligently learns. Benjamin learned sales skills and business philosophy from his street vending, then continued to progress and created his own business. This spirit of hard work and self-confidence inspires me and educates me to believe in my own abilities and efforts, and pursue my goals.
In addition, through this novel, I can also feel the capitalist values of American society. In this society, individual struggle, labor, competition, and success are paramount. Although this value system has its shortcomings and deficiencies in some aspects, it does encourage people to pursue higher achievements to some extent, which is important for economic development and social progress.
Overall, "Bound to Rise" as an excellent novel full of positive energy and inspiration, will continue to provide help and encouragement to readers, stimulating our spirit of moving forward and constantly pursuing success.
