  Heathcliff left Wuthering Heights because he couldn't bear Catherine's brother Edgar's bullying and insults to her. After the death of Old Earl, Heathcliff was demoted to a servant and received severe treatment. When he couldn't bear this kind of life, he chose to leave. After Heathcliff left, Catherine felt very painful and lost. Her mood fluctuates, sometimes fantasizing that Heathcliff will come back, and sometimes worrying that he will never come back. Although she has married Edgar, her heart still belongs to Heathcliff. During Heathcliff's departure, Catherine's life became empty and uninteresting, often falling into contemplation and sadness. However, three years after Heathcliff's departure, he returned to Wuthering Heights. At this point, Catherine was seriously ill and her life had entered the countdown. Heathcliff's return caused Catherine's mood to fluctuate, feeling both joy and regret for her past mistakes. In the end, Catherine passed away in Heathcliff's arms.
