  Mr. Darcy began to realize his feelings for Elizabeth after she left Meryton. He regretted his previous arrogant behavior and attitude towards Elizabeth, and began to appreciate Elizabeth's intelligence, independence, and sincerity.During her time in the Netherlands, she received a letter from Mr. Darcy, learning the truth about his breakup with his sister Jane and Mr. Wickham, which gave her a new understanding of Mr. Darcy. Elizabeth began to realize her misunderstanding of Mr. Darcy and developed a new respect and gratitude towards him.
