Collins was a distant nephew of Mr. Bennet, and a cousin of the five sisters of Elizabeth, and as Mr. Bennet had no son, when he dies, all his estate will go to his distant relative, Collins. At the first meeting, he praised not only the Bennetts, but also every piece of furniture in their house. Perhaps in his own opinion, he manner was decent and polite, but no one else in the room (except Mrs. Bennet) liked his garrulous and pompous compliments. Unfortunately, he didn't know it yet. From his words after his appearance, we can also feel that he got the position of rector, not because of his ability, but because he knew how to flatter powerful people.

He is Mr. Bennett's nephew;Because he wants to inherit all of Mr. Bennett's property; His so-called compensation is to marry one of the Bennet girls to make up for the inheritance rights lost to these girls because of him.

Mr Collins is Mr Bennet's nephew. He felt uneasy about inheriting Mr. Bennet's fortune, and deeply apologized for visiting the Bennet family at Longbourn. He thought marrying one of the Bennet daughters to lighten the burden would be the ultimate amends.
