22 应英 1 班 郑舒怡Darcy proposed to Elizabeth by asking her to marry him and take over his family business. Elizabeth initially refused his proposal, as she didn't want to leave her own family and business behind. She also felt that Darcy was too controlling and not trustworthy enough to be her husband. In the end, Elizabeth accepted Darcy's proposal after he made a promise to give up his controlling ways and be more open-minded towards her. She realized that she could have a happy life with him and take over his business, which would give her the freedom she needed.
