  Mencius is regarded as a great man mainly because of his contributions to the inheritance and development of Confucianism, the establishment of political theory, and his profound influence on future generations. After Confucius, he not only adhered to and promoted the core ideas of Confucianism, but also established a political ideological system based on "people-oriented". Mencius' thoughts had a profound impact on China after the Tang and Song dynasties. His ideas were not only highly praised by Tang Dynasty scholars such as Han Yu, but also included in the "Four Books" by Zhu Xi of the Southern Song Dynasty, becoming one of the basic classics of Confucianism. This means that Mencius' ideas not only developed the teachings of Confucius in philosophy, but also occupied a core position in Confucian education. The contribution of Mencius in ideology should not be underestimated. His theory of goodness in nature closely links abstract moral concepts with human behavior and summarizes it into the "four ends" theory, providing specific guiding principles for people's behavior.
