用户701583Clare is a very different person from Ray. He is an enlightened intellectual. Although he was born into a clergyman's family, he did not want to be a priest "to serve God", and was more willing to engage in industry - farming. Clare despised class prejudice and hierarchical concepts, rejected the prosperous life in the city, and volunteered to farm in the countryside. He is not afraid of hardship, and agricultural workers engaged in heavy manual labor, trying to master various types of agricultural technology, in order to realize his ideal, to become a big farmer.

海外院第一深情Angel Clare was a complex character, described as passionate yet repressed, morally rigid but also prone to self-doubt. He described Tess to his parents as a country girl of no particular sophistication or education, and Tess's excuse for not marrying Angel initially was her belief that she was morally unworthy due to her past with Alec d'Urberville.

用户701590Angel Clare is portrayed as an idealistic and morally principled character in Thomas Hardy's "Tess of the d'Urbervilles." He rejects the conventional social norms of his time and seeks a more egalitarian and progressive way of life. Angel is intelligent, well-educated, and deeply passionate about farming and nature. However, despite his progressive ideals, he also grapples with internal conflicts and struggles to fully reconcile his beliefs with his actions. When describing Tess to his parents, Angel portrays her as a pure and innocent country girl, emphasizing her simplicity, beauty, and kindness. He presents Tess as a paragon of virtue, reflecting his deeply held romanticized ideals. Tess's excuse for not marrying Angel initially stems from her sense of unworthiness due to her past experiences and the belief that she is stained and impure. She fears that she is not deserving of Angel's love and would only taint his reputation and future prospects. This internalized shame and belief in her own unworthiness drives her initial refusal to accept Angel's proposal.

曹颖浩His character is characterised by the concept of class engraved in his heart and the concept of ideal love! He told his parents that Tess was a beautiful, kind and innocent girl. The reason why Tess didn't dare to marry him was that she had been someone else's mistress and had a child.
