Mr.gu white this book in order to show the superiority of how or what protect the civilization and society of Chinese. When Europe fought the unrest of society and crisis of civilized construction ,Chinese live harmoniously with their constitutional sprit force. In the author ‘s opinion, the war which will destroy social order and urge people adore brutish and violence is inevitable for western world. The way how Europe maintain their civilization result in this consequence. Western world always protect their civilization through nature force and moral force. These two power in real life are religion and police. To maintaining these two social systems ,the country consume huge cost .

   From my perspective, this series of ideas have full and accurate historical facts ,also very artful. Because Germany indeed fall into militarism’s vortex, when their people felt huge desperation and insecurity in a past history period. The militarism which symbolizes following blindly, passion, discarding humanity, numbness is companion product of civilization moldering. Tons of history facts shows the inner insecurity in European civilization. It makes loopholes in European civilization highly trusted. So the description of European countries is reasonable.

   But in the other hand ,the description of Chinese in this book has the suspicion of excessive stick up. Words in book told readers the opinions from Mr.gu with favoritism. At the same time ,author totally repudiate western countries’ social civilization guarantee system. Go further, almost the whole theory and discuss about the spirit of the Chinese people built based on prejudice. I think it’s unfair and a kind of stick up for Chinese. Although Mr.gu is outstanding master of Chinese culture who devote himself to reveal Chinese’s spiritual life and emphasize Chinese traditional culture’s eternal value, the action that belittle one while praise the other still is improper. But we still need to be thankful for contribution he made for conveying and carrying forward Confucianism. 

   As a scholar who live in China before liberation and exposed in education of Confucianism , Mr.gu ‘s behavior is reasonable and inner irrational. Maybe this book is not totally objective, the nice still answer the question what the value and inner power of Chinese is. Through read this book, we can try to seek valueless cultural confidence and exploit the unique our have as a Chinese. What ‘ s more, we can also find the way to maintain the balance of the people world. It ‘s a great book which worth a serious-minded reading.
