It’s very hard for me to tell the spirit of Chinese even as a member of the nation.The harmony of China is based on a magnificent balance which has guaranteed the unity of this multiracial country for millennium.Comparing another multiracial country in history the Austro-Hungarian Empire,China was more stable and the bond between nations was more solid when the tide of racism came.Both countries have multiracial and muti-religious problems.There were conflicts,for Austro-Hungarian Empire revolution firstly happened in 1848 as a result of the Enlightenment.The uprising was pulled down by military force,making this country lost the chance to be united by a new idea from the Germans -- the Austrian nation,which includes every citizen that is loyal to the emperor and his own kingdom,in another way,he who was born in Bohemia,Hungary,Venice or any other place that is protected by the Hapsburg family,is s man of Austria first,of his own kingdom then.Unfortunately,it didn’t last for a long time.At the darkest time of WWI,the whole empire fell apart as a result of starvation and economic crisis.The territory was divided by different races Germanic,Slavic,Czech and others with boarders decided by the military forces they have.Somehow in China the definition of Chinese nation was come up before century,all land to the emperor,all man to the emperor.After the census of population which was also started before century by the same ruler,local officers can deal with two most important things,tax and conscription directly on the emperor’s authority,while such thing only happens in Joseph Franz’s dream.
Unlike the history of the conflict and negotiation with priests in Europe the history of Chinese politic is the history of the conflict between the prime minster and the emperor.The relationship is quite complicated,the conflict had never became the trigger of a war or something except a very example,Wang Mang who is more likely to be a liberator than a fake emperor,tried to bring in decrees which are similar to the ones in the post-industry era,and failed without doubt.The reason why ministers had never taken the emperor’s place is the strong administration of publication made even the prime minister himself confused as there had been no such thing ever succeeded before,and the only way to replace the emperor he knows is to be a new one and that means he would face the same situation as the emperor himself.
For almost every single person of ancient China,Confucius is not only a philosophy or religion,it is also the only way to get a job in the government,the folk are guided getting back to the countryside with knowledge and fame is the ultimate success as a person,it sounds familiar for Germanic people because they experienced about the same period of time and they call such people Biedermeier,and being Biedermeier is also what Austro-Hungarian government expected people to do when the racism flood came.I have to say as the volk and government in China and Austro-Hungarian Empire were doing the familiar things at that situation and the similarity of chaos in both countries after the two similar revolutions with almost the same ending,harmony,the spirit of Chinese is more likely to be the tolerance developed by long-time stable and peaceful contact with those who are different.Such tolerance takes time,and fortunately that’s what China is varied.
