On the Variance between East and West
——reaction to the spirit of the chinese people

  ‘The real Chinaman,I have shown you,is a man who lives the life of a man of adult reason with the simple heart  of a child,and the spirit of the Chinese people is a happy union of soul with intellect.’As the Mr.Gu said,Chinese people have a strong national spirit. It’s different from the Christianity ,it’s come from benevolence（仁） , justice（义） ,propriety（礼） which the Confucius taught us thousands years ago. Western people use the religion to reassure the people ,they let the citizens to trust God .But in China ,we don’t have a religion like this .Teaching ,is the method which we preferred .Due to teaching ,we can control people invisible. Chinese traditional leader as emperor wanted his citizens listen to him from their hearts .So they used the Confucianism to let everyone behave like the way he wanted .There is no basic difference with the Western way, even more disrepute .

   Then ,I want to talk about the spirit of the Chinese people .In the national culture ,we learned that what is the sense of shame .Due to this kind of emotion ,we can control our words and deeds by ourselves .This is the biggest difference between East and West cultural .We promote to standardize ourselves ,differ in the West people ,they listen to the God .Mr.Gu said the spirit of Chinese people is the sense and the blessed mood .According to this idea Chinese people are more autonomy .

  But I don’t agree with the section of the Chinese woman in the book ,it’s such an old opinion .Maybe in the old community most of the Chinese woman lived their life only rely on their man . When they were a girl ,they listened to their father .When they were a wife ,they listened to their husband .Even they became a mother ,they should listened to their son .What pity lives they live ! But there were also many heroic women during the Chinese history ,such as the Mu Guiying .However,with the era variation，people’s attitude in treating woman had changed gradually .Now days Chinese woman has their own judgements ,differ from the conventional womon who are only cling to their husband . However one opinion in the book is right ,a Chinese virtuous wife is industrious .These are my opinion about the topic of the Chinese woman ,a bite different from Mr. Gu.

  The last but not the least ,is Chinese culture .Not like Greece and India .Their cultural is not successive ,their cultural has a huge transform during their history .But China isn’t .We have our own characters ,we have our own mood of thinking .We are an organic whole ,no matter what the era is .Perhaps due to the different way of thinking ,we have the longest history in the world .It worth everyone of us to be honored of .

   In general ,the spirit of the Chinese people is not several sentences can explain .It’s a complex thing that we should use our whole life to make it clear .Also , the book the spirit of the Chinese people is an out-standing book in introduce the Chinese culture .It gives me different angles to understand the Chinese spirit .
