中国人的信仰
China has always been seen as a nation without faith. In gu's theory, religion and law are more alike than the law of the gentleman. In my view, the essence of the gentleman's law lies in sacrifice. Faith, an unreserved devotion to follow is for the letter, the highest praise is for the respect, the inherent sense of honor to death and life become sacred, if it is not here a variety of spirits inherited, how can the Chinese nation has been so long?
The Chinese are unique, and so are their beliefs. But gu lived in a time when the spirit of the traditional Chinese people was being crushed by the so-called advanced western civilization. Gu Lao saw this tragic situation and intended to find something valuable from the tradition to add to the Chinese people at that time to prove the superiority of the tradition and shape the progressive and modern Chinese people, which should be the purpose of his writing this book.
