After finishing this book，Gu Hongming，the author gives me a very deep impression.

  It's important for China to awaken people' consciousness in those years.Most Chinese people were down because sovereignty was hard to keep as many invaders came to China.And the main reason for Gu Hongming to write The Sprit Of Chinese People is the idea to wake up our Chinese people.

  The book takes Europe as contrast，talking  different culture ,different personality and so on.Gu thinks European' religion is frivolous.And，he talks Chinese are gentle，talking about the humanity of us is gentle and dolicity.It's ok to say most of us are gentleman，but I do think there are some people are ambitious in our country，someone who is just not gentle but rude.However one thing I must say is that our people like peace and we all will protect our country from being attacked.Gu said:nothing wild, savage or ferocious in him.I really agree this opinion.For us,we are satisfied with our peaceful life.And we are brave to protect our country to give our family bless.We are not warlike，just devote ourselves to keep our love safe.We are helpful like the book's servant of Scotch friend who will give a hand when you are in a hard situation.

  It's ture that Gu hongming is genius.But his thoughts sometimes are feudatorial and extreme.For example，he thinks woman just can do homework is enough.Besides he tinks concubine is servant and they are used for abreact.What's more，he also feels good about himself，for him can give these concubines a house to live.

Gu is patriotic，who very loves his country.But some opinions in his book I don’t think it's right.Like man doesn’t need to do housework，and woman must do whole chores and make everywhere in a good order.Maybe I live in a morden life so I can’t think from his eye in an objective place.I admit in feudal society it is very right to think like Gu.I think I am lucky not to live his ages.

  In addition，his opinion that Chinese man are perfect is not fair.Possibly he is not talking it directly,but from his word it's apparently to see it.What I mean is we should be modest,look our shortcomings and not be arrogant.We,as members of China ,need to be strict with ourselves.We can study advanced country to make our country，our hometown and our family better than ago.We must face our dellima bravely while we are outdated.Because it's not shameful，just be honest for our problem.In this way we can solve our problems without fear and make our country powerful.However，in Gu's book he talks everything is well and our Chinese man is excellent not only in the aspect on talent and learning but also in social contact.It's too big for our Chinese man.

  In the end，we should learn national confidence from this book and remove the dross.
