China is a country with a long history, through which give rise to the unique Chinese spirit.
With the gentle personality, Chinese have a kind of noble and indescribable charm. They have a strong sense of empathy and respect, and have their feeling from the deep of the heart, with less accuracy and regulation. This differs Chinese from other foreigners.
The spirit of Chinese is also the immortal national spirit and a forever young attitude towards everything. How can China always keep young? The answer is in its long history. The Confucianism highlight a kind of sense of honor, which help strengthen the stability of the society.
However, many Chinese prefer the thoughts of western countries instead of our own culture. As a result, the traditional Chinese thoughts had been gradually abandoned. In the passage, Mr Gu point out the importance of the traditional Chinese culture. With it we can push the history forward and help the country develop in many respects.
As a famous scholar, Mr Gu is familiar with culture from all over the world. As a result, he definitely knew more and thought more deeply than common people. At that time, nearly all the youth cut down their braid, but MrGu refused to do so. In my opinion, his reaction showed his resistance towards accepting western culture anabandoning traditional Chinese culture completely. Yet there were many drawbacks in our tradition, the advantages still deserved being remembered and spread to future generations. In Qing Dynasty, China is attacked by countries so-called with brilliant ideology. But did it really mean the complete failure of Chinese culture? Apparently, the answer is not. What we need to do is value the good parts and forget those out of season.
China is still developing at a high speed in many different aspects. The spirits of Chinese are still passed on by generations among us. The courage, the moderation and the other unique spirits and temperament will and must will continue, thus take effect in the future.The traditional culture can be thought as a precious treasure that help the whole nation become stronger.
